I had contact with “Lamps” recently. Before a fight at MSG the other night broadcast on HBO, he acknowledged, in front of a huge photo of Joe Frazier demolishing Ali with a left hook, that the “real” Fight of the Century” was in fact Ali-Frazier I (as I had observed before the Mayweather – Pacquiao debacle) and forwarded to him. BTW, he is being inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame this weekend. Pretty steep honor.
